Used as a warehouse for many years, the historic han has been converted into a centre for design and culture while preserving its original structure and inner courtyard. During the restoration, traces from different periods of the building were documented and left visible.
The new steel and glass elements are designed as light, reversible interventions that clearly stand apart from the historic fabric yet work in harmony with it. Covered by a new roof, the courtyard has become an event space that can be used all year round.
